I got the Samsung Galaxy active two not to long ago, and I love it for the most part. Here’s the problem though. Because I do not have a Samsung phone, I can not make calls on the watch with out my phone on. This is one of the features I wanted and why I got the watch in the first place. Samsung is acting like apple here and I don’t like it. Here’s the thing, on the ligature for the Samsung galaxy there was no mention of the fact that I would not be able to make calls Etc like I want because I don’t have a Samsung phone. I refuse to get another Samsung phone, because they are as boxed in as apple is. I got out of one apple orchard, I do not want to get in to another one. You can argue that I am in one now, but at this time the watch meets most of my needs. The only thing it can’t do is make calls Etc.
I don’t understand why Samsung did this in the first place. It looks like they’d want as much money as possible, and they’d get it if they wasn’t so controlling. They are running down the apple road, and fast. They better slow down, or they’re going to have a train wreck and they are going to wreck hard, with smoke and fire. Maybe if enough people complain about this they’re fix it? Something tells me I’m holding out false hope about that though. I’ll keep the watch for a while because other than the phone part of it not working it does meet my needs. I have to be sure the watch has a screen reader in it. This is why I chose Samsung to start with.
The solution to this would be if Samsung would fix the problem. Either that or if google would get on the ball and make a smart watch. For now, I’ll keep this watch, but honestly, I don’t know if I’ll ever trust Samsung again.
Here’s the lesson, and please keep in mind I am only talking from experience here. If you don’t have a Samsung phone, do not get the galaxy watch. One of the main features will not be available to you. That and Bixby will try to dominate everything to. I can’t type in my password for my wireless network with out Bixby coming up.
