Okay first of all, just a warning, there will be a swear word in this, so if you don't like that, stop reading now. Still reading? Okay, consider yourself warned.
I was watching something on YouTube about funny things people say while going under for operations and this made me think of a story that cracks me up. I got my left eye removed in 2012 and before the operation they gave me some kind of meds to relax me. Well the nurse explained what she was giving me and I was really nervous, so as she put this stuff through the I.V, I just kept talking and talking and talking. Nerves I guess. Well she was standing there, waiting for this stuff to start working. All of a sudden, my body felt… weird. I can't explain the feeling. All I can compare this feeling to, is someone picking me up, and throwing me up in the air. I just sort of stopped talking, and said, kind of loud, "Holy shit!" Don't ask me why I had this reaction, because I have no clue. The nurse was like "ahh, you're feeling it now." That's all I remember. I have no clue if I said anything else, or what. That is, until they started to give me the stuff to put me under. For some reason, I started to fight to stay awake. Typical, I am so hard headed that I will even fight the meds to knock me out for a very painful operation. Lol. I hope you guys get a laugh out of this.

Interesting reaction. Do you remember what medications you were given?
You must not be an easy one.
I don’t remember what meds they gave me no. and no, I am a pain sometimes.
Mostly midazolam (a benzodiazepine) is used before operation due to anxiolytic and sedative properties of this group of drugs. This specific benzo floating and sudden reaction is common when these medications are administered intravenously. The oral route is much milder, though… 😉
